I know, I know...

I'm very sorry for being absent! I've been trying to juggle everything that's happening in my life and to be completely honest, forgot I had a blog! In my last post I said that I was thinking of turning this into a baby related blog, but seeing as it's a beauty and lifestyle blog anyway, I thought that there was no point.

I'm going to try and use this more, even if it's linked with my YouTube videos I.e tomorrow I'm filming a healthy snacks video where I will be making snacks. I thought that this was a good place to have the recipes rather than making the video longer that it needs to be!

I just want to give a little update, since I posted last in May! I was put on antisickness medication as I was being sick constantly, finally got over the morning sickness at week 21! I'm exactly 27 weeks today- some people say it's the start of the third trimester (I'm one of those people) some same it's week 28. Whichever week it is, I'm just happy that I get to meet my little boy soon! We have decided a name, but won't be telling people until he arrives, although family know the name. He is kicking and moving around a lot, but has now got a sleep pattern so it worries me when I can't feel him move, but then he'll wake up and I can give a sigh of relief!
Another change I've made to my schedule, is to plan my following week on a Sunday. This way I know what I have coming up for that week and can plan videos. When I plan for next week, I will include blog post ideas too, so if you have any posts you want to see, let me know! I have also taken into writing down a 'diary'. It was originally going to be somewhere I could write when I was having a low day, but now I've got into the habit of sitting down in the evening and writing what happened that day or how I'm feeling. This is helping me keep track of everything and I'm glad I've started doing this. Hopefully it can help me to see if there's anything that sets these low moods off and how I cope or overcame them to help myself in the future.

Update

On
Sunday, 21 May 2017
Hello everyone!

So I know it's been a while since I posted here and on YouTube, but I wanted to do a little update as to why I haven't been active on YouTube. As some of you may know who follow me on Instagram, I'm pregnant! It came as a big shock to my boyfriend, myself and our families. It wasn't planned but after talking it through together, we are keeping it.

If any of you have been pregnant, or know someone who has/is pregnant, you'll know that they have absolutely no energy in the first trimester. This is why I have been absent. The thought of filming a video when I've got no energy doesn't feel right to me, and would feel forced and not myself. Once I hit the second trimester (2 weeks away) I'll be back to posting videos, both baby related and beauty related. I hav also thought about maybe turning this blog into a baby related blog, so once the baby is here, I'm still able to be active during nap times and feeding, without having to worry about the baby waking up. Plus I'll be very tired to begin with, and won't want to be in front of the camera.

I would love to get your feedback as to what posts you see, what YouTube videos I post, and also any tips and tricks with pregnancy and once the baby is here. I'm hoping to upload haul videos of clothing, furniture, room tour- which will be my room tour as the baby will be sharing my room, tips and tricks videos, just lots of pregnancy related videos.

Hopefully within the next few weeks, I'll be uploading a YouTube video.. I'm wanting to do a blog of my next scan, but I'm not sure how the hospital will feel about me filming whilst getting the scan done, so we'll see.

Getting to know me

On
Wednesday, 1 March 2017
So I know I haven't posted in some time and I'm sorry. I have been trying to focus on YouTube, but being ill has put some videos off and I haven't been posting as much as I'd like too. I am a lot better now- tonsillitis at this beginning of the year, broken finger at the beginning of Feb and then a virus over the last few weeks. I have also had an update on my mental health which is what I wanted to share with you now.

As you know from reading previous 'getting to know me' posts, you'll see that I suffer with mental health issues. The other day, I finally received a diagnosis... I suffer with borderline personality disorder (BPD). Now I'm not entirely sure what it means, but the doctor explained it to me in a really easy way which made sense. Everyone has a personality, but unlike everyone else, I struggle to contain my emotions. I can go from 1 to 100 in a matter of seconds and it can take a while for me to calm down.

I'm still getting my head around BPD as I have no idea how it will change my life, but I know it's a disorder which will change everything I know. I recently started a new relationship with a wonderful guy, who supports me and understands that there will be times where I will say something I don't mean. I explained to him that it won't be me saying those things e.g. I hate you, as he knows it's not true. He wants to help and support me in every way he can and I'm so thankful I found him.

When I've had these outbursts of emotions before, it feels like I have no control of my actions or emotions and it's really scary. It feels like something has taken over my body and mind and is controlling what I do and say. I say something, rather than someone because it doesn't feel like a person controlling what I do, it feels like a force which has taken over my body- kinda like being possessed (that's the only way I can describe how it feels). These outbursts can occur at anytime and anywhere, which makes me look like a bad person if I have an outburst whilst out in public.

I wanted to share this with you as it's still new to me and if I'm able to help just 1 person who reads this post, that's great. I also had an idea of starting a mental health blog, where I can post how I'm feeling, what treatment I'm getting, just things like that as we NEED to talk more about mental health! I don't want to be labelled as different to everyone else because I have borderline personality disorder, I want people to know I'm still a human and I'm able to live an everyday life. I work, I'm in a relationship, I can be independent, which some people think isn't possible because I have a mental 'illness'. YES it's an illness, YES I'm getting treatment, YES I AM HUMAN!

If you want to read more on BPD, click here.

New Year, New Me?

On
Thursday, 5 January 2017
First off I want to apologise for not taking part in Blogmas like I said I would! I really wanted to take part in Blogmas but everything just got on top of me with my mental health. In this post I will be updating you on what's going on with that so you know where I'm at.

At the beginning of December- 5th December to be exact, I had an appointment with my local GP. I was able to sit down with her and explain what I was concerned about and what I wanted to happen. After talking to her, I came away with antidepressants and was waiting a referral for a mental health clinic near where I live. I started the course of antidepressants the following day and have noticed a change in my mood- I'm still feeling depressed and suicidal, but it's nowhere near as much as it used to be. Once the referral came through, I went to this clinic for an assessment and want put on antipsychotics, as well as other tablets to help with the symptoms. I was put on the antipsychotics to help with the voices I hear. I've been hearing voices for about 5 years now and since my mental health took a massive turn for the worst, that's when I decided it was time to sort it out! I am currently taking 5 tablets a day to help with my mental health but will keep you updated on my journey as I hopefully discover what's going on in my head soon!

My goal for this year is to blog more. I am still working out when I'll post, but it will most likely be once a week until I get back into the swing of things. I will be going back to physically handwriting my posts out so all I have to do is copy it from the notebook, which made my blogging life so much easier! It also helps me keep a track on what I've written so I don't post the same or something similar.

I will do another update in a couple months time (not including my mental health journey) to review how the blogging is going. I am also thinking of doing a review for once a month of how that specific month has been- I would write down the date and what happened so I could do a mini review/update from that month and can see how far I've come from the beginning of the year to the end!

Blogmas day 3- Christmas photo challenge

On
Wednesday, 7 December 2016

I found the above picture on Pinterest and loved the idea of doing a Christmas photo challenge. I will be uploading the first 7 pictures to Instagram as soon as I get home (I tweeted earlier about why I've been missing from Blogmas) but I can't wait to try the photo challenge!

I did credit the original creator of this post on Instagram- it took a lot of searching to find her, but luckily she had commented on a post of someone who used her # which made it somewhat easier to find it. She didn't comment when she created this challenge but it just happy to see it still going around!

Keep an eye out on Instagram later tonight of the posts from this challenge!

Blogmas day 1- Christmas bucket list

On
Sunday, 4 December 2016

It's that time of the year again where we get to talk about CHRISTMAS!!! As I sorta explained in a tweet, I'm doing Blogmas a little different this year. I will still be posting but it'll be every other day rather than everyday. This is because of personal issues and work. I get that people have a full time jobs and still post everyday- I admire you, but due to a recent post, I am struggling with motivation to write (I shall keep you updated on the journey I'm facing).

Anyway back to the fun stuff!! I thought the first Blogmas post this year should be a Christmas bucket list. I was searching through Pinterest at anything Christmas related and came across a few different bucket lists. It gave me the idea to do one myself as I want to cram as much Christmas stuff in as I can before the big day! I'm not going to make it a long list, but a list I can do whilst I'm working too.

- Drink homemade hot chocolate
- Take a Christmassy picture with a red cup
- Decorate my tree
- Start a new Christmas tradition
- Visit Winter Wonderland
- Bake cookie
- Watch 3 Christmas films in a row
- Make a Christmas card
- Make Christmas decorations
- Build a gingerbread house
- Visit a Christmas market

Let me know what you get up too this Christmas!

Makeup Haul

On
Wednesday, 16 November 2016
Now this isn't going to be a massive post as I haven't bought that much makeup recently, but I thought I'd include the Tanya Burr Christmas advent calendar. I was very impatient and opened it up early- I will post what came in it, but I cant remember the days. Another reason I opened it earlier is because I purchased the House of Fraser advent calendar. I do hope to buy another calendar, it's just finding one, so please tell me which one I should get!

I've been slacking in the buying makeup department, I mean I still get loads of joy out of it but I'm just struggling to chose what to buy. With this being said, my dad miraculously gifts me with some money a few weeks back so I, of course, went on a shopping spree! As I didn't own anything from Chanel, I really wanted to get something. I was looking on the House of Fraser website and saw the Le Blanc De Chanel multi-use illuminating base. As its a multi-use base you can use it for a number of things. Their websit says you can use it as a :
- foundation base
- concealer
- illuminating base
- radiance booster

I use it as a foundation base and an illuminating base. It makes my foundation last all day whilst adding a subtle luminosity to the face. I always refer back to my skin type, but as I've got oily skin I've always been scared of anything illuminating- including highlighter, as I'm worried it'll make me look oily and shiny, but this base doesn't do that! I'm so glad I picked this up as my skin feel softer, it smells amazing and my foundation lasts all day.

Another item I have been wanting to pick up for ages was the Laura Mercier loose setting powder. I picked up the universal shade as I'm so pale, I've found translucent still adds colour to my skin! This powder feels so light on the skin and sets my foundation in place all day. It doesn't cake up on my face as it's finely milled which helps to keep it feeling light on my skin. It contains light reflectors which help to blur lines and it doesn't settle into pores or lines. It is also non-comedogenic and oil-free!

Now I think NYX is becoming my favourite drugstore brand. It's cheap, the quality is amazing and they offer a wide range of colours in their soft matte lip creams- which are AMAZING! I picked up their above and beyond full coverage concealer in porcelain and the Proof It! Waterproof Eye Shadow Primer to see how it compares to the Urban Decay primer potion. I will have a separate post up about how well the concealer wears and how the eyeshadow primer compares.

I will have a new post up this week about my thoughts on the concealer and primer, and possibly a new makeup routine.

Getting to know me

On
Monday, 7 November 2016
Now I posted back in March about a getting to know me series. I wasn't sure when I would be posting again in this series but after last week, I feel I need to post again.

Back in 2012 when I was at sixth form things started to get pretty bad. My relationship with my dad wasn't great- it's not perfect now, but it's improving and I'm seeing him more, and I was struggling in a relationship that I was no longer happy in. Because of the stress of school and the relationships with both my dad and an ex, I started to struggle with depression. It started out where I wouldn't want to go into school, or I'd want to go home if I had gone to school. It then progressed to me self harming. I had come clean to my tutor at school saying that I was struggling with relationships and school, and that I had been self harming myself. She gave me the support I needed and I'm thankful I had her in my life when things got bad.
I eventually came clean to my mum as well who decided to book in sessions for me to speak to someone. This was a mistake, I went to 2 sessions and came out feeling worse than when I went in because I felt she wasn't helping the problems but making excuses for people who I was having bad relationships with- telling me that my dad might not make an effort with me as I got older due to certain things in his life, rather than telling me how I could work and build on the relationship.
The relationship I was in at the time eventually broke down 2 months later and I felt free and happier than I had done for a while, but after the summer realised I only had friends because of the relationship I had been in. I was still suffering with depression but met an amazing person, who is still in my life, and he made everything seem easier. We hadn't met in person as he was living in Manchester at the time we met, but we spoke on the phone nearly every night and Skyped a lot so it felt easier and talking to him about my problems made me feel better as I knew I had someone in my life I could talk too. This friendship ended due to reasons I will not go into, but I still felt happier as I had had the support from someone who I knew cared about me.
I started college in 2013 and met some amazing people there who kept me motivated and my mind off things. I was in a relationship at the beginning of college which ended 10 months later but as there were another couple girls going through breakups too, I had support and we helped each other through it! About a month after the break up I met Ollie and I felt happier than I had done in years. At the beginning of the relationship he supported me when I had a 'relapse' and would be there to listen. Fast forward a year into out relationship and he started to show his true colours. I was accused everyday for the 2 years we were together of cheating on him, having to prove what I was doing and who I was with (yes I had to take pictures when I went out with my mum, of my mum to prove I was doing what I said I was), constantly put down- I had attempted a blog while we were together in the beginning and he hated when I wore makeup out as I was- and quote 'trying to impress other guys and get their attention'. This relationship started to get very toxic, very quickly, but as I was 'in love' with him I didn't see it. There were constant arguments, I wasn't allowed to see a friend of mine because she would suggest meeting for a drink and I'd apparently get drunk and end up out in town.
At the beginning of last year I started going downhill again. I started to self harm again and actually took it a step further. I had been having suicidal thoughts for a while and I wasn't getting any support from Ollie- whenever I cried due to depression it was because I had actually 'cheated and felt bad'. As my life was spinning out  of control, I thought that ending my life was the better option than ending the toxic relationship. I ended up in the hospital 3 times within about a month, maybe 2, where I had overdosed on pills. I had attempted 4 times, but the last time I was constantly sick until it was out my system.
After that he would still accuse me and say I was just attention seeking if I cried too, so he was still no help. The relationship ended earlier this year and although I didn't want it too- he told me he didn't love me and left me for someone else, it was probably the best thing that ever happened to me! I had amazing friends, reconnected with people I had lost due to him and met people. For once I was in control of my life, I was able to actually go out clubbing, something I had done twice when I turned 18 due to 2 relationships, and I was going out and having fun! I've attempted other relationships but things have got in the way or I've been too scared due to what he did to me. I am learning to love myself more and I'm in a much better place. Well I thought I was, until Tuesday. It had been a very busy day at work and the I had ICT in the evening in order to pass my apprenticeship, and when I got home there was a feeling inside me, a feeling I knew wouldn't end well. I decided to try and relax by having a bath, which helped to begin with but as I was sat there, with nothing but my own thoughts taunting me, I burst out into tears. I had had enough and thought that I could stick my head under the water and drown myself as this would get rid of all the problems. I decided against it as I was trying to think about everything positive in my life, I have a family and friends who love me, I have a job, I have this which is my passion, and I have everyone who reads my posts as I know it's a support network too. I know my life could be worse, but that will never stop this demon inside me, eating at my happiness but I am trying to push through it and get myself into a place I know I will be happy in and not be effected as much by this monster which consumes me!
I know this post was VERY different from what I normally post, but I wanted to post it as I know more and more people suffer with mental health problems, and no one likes to talk about it. I want to break the barrier down and let you in as much as possible so you realise I am also human, I do suffer with mental health problems and that WE can overcome anything that stands in the way of happiness! I will always be here if anyone ever needs someone to talk to! I've been through what you're going through and I want you to know that I will listen when no one else does, I will support you when you feel lonely and that I will always be here for anyone who needs it!
If you ever want to drop me an email, please do- saraharpum95@gmail.com. I check this account everyday and will respond to as many people as I can who just need someone to talk too, or to rant too or who needs any support!

Lush Tunbridge Wells Event 2016

On
Wednesday, 5 October 2016
On Saturday I had the privilege of going to yet another Lush blogger event in Tunbridge Wells. This time was to celebrate the launch of their Christmas range. As I have been to previous events before, I had a rough idea of how the night would go. As I loved the events in the past, I invited my friend Lianne, who is a YouTuber- LiaRose, as I knew she'd love the events just as much as I have previously.

As we were walking down to Lush, I saw Courtney- sberrydream who I have met at both the previous events. It was so nice to see a familiar face as it helps make the event less daunting. We walked up to her and I introduced Lianne and Courtney to each other. There were a lot of familiar faces I saw- Clarice from clarice_is_in_wonderland and Jen from tabbycatcollars (although I didn't get to say hi.. Hi Jen!) As soon as they unlocked the doors to let us in, my heart started racing with excitement!

We were divided into 2 groups- 1 group made products while the others were shown the products, and then we swapped. I was in the group which were shown the products and it was amazing. All the smells and colours were unreal. First we were shown luxury lush pud which left amazing colours in the water. It had that Christmas smell, I can't describe it, it just smelt like Christmas in a bath bomb! After we were shown shoot for the stars- I was lucky enough to be given one of these in my goody bag which I'm super excited to try! The blue colour was amazing and it smelt like an orange earl grey, weird way of describing it, but it contains orange and bergamot oil.

After we had been shown the bath bombs and bubble bars, we were shown their body conditioners. This product is amazing! it's exactly the same as a conditioner for your hair, except you use it on your body to give you super soft skin. We were first shown ... and it smelt incredible! I loved the pink colour and the iridescent sheen it had to it, just made it all that more perfect! I will be picking this product up when I next go to Lush! We were also shown sleepy but didn't get to try this out. They also let us try out fairy dust which left the skin feeling soft and a slight sparkle.

When it was time to swap over, we were taken upstairs in the store. Tunbridge Wells are one of the few stores which has an area to host parties or events while the store is still open. When we got upstairs, we gathered round a table and were told we were going to be making the Ruby Slipper. All the ingredients were placed into a bowl and mixed together- it looked a lot like pink bread! As there was glitter left over from the other groups, it was added to our mixture to make it extra glittery! We were told that the mould for the slipper shape was clinging onto the mixture for dear life, so could make any shape we wanted- I opted for a heart.

Once we had finished decorating our bubble bars, I gobbled down 2 mince pies- its early I know, but they looked so good and I couldn't resist myself! While we were all eating cake and mince pies, I got talking to Nella from ringonthedoorbell I was mentioning that I had been to the previous two events and she said she had been to the first one, so it was good to meet people I hadn't had the chance to speak too in the other events!

We all went back downstairs and I was talking to Bronwen about one of the products they sell. It's a face powder which is completely translucent and great for oily skin. I had to get this product and I picked up an eye cream and their highlighter too. After I had taken a few more pictures and paid for my items, I was given a goodie bag with a little gift inside. I was saying goodbye and Seb mentioned that the next even will probably be a Lush party which I'm looking forward too!

I had an amazing time as I have done in the past and I'm so thankful that my blog gets me opportunities like this. I cannot wait to attend more blogger events in the future!

I will be posting my outfit and makeup for the blogger event and then have a post up within the next couple of weeks of what we were shown and my thoughts on the products.

Tunbridge wells haul

On
Wednesday, 28 September 2016
I tend to spend a lot of time in Tunbridge Wells, if you haven't noticed. It's become a second home almost as it has pretty much everything I need. I love coming to Tunbridge Wells, even if it's just for a browse in the shops or walking through the pantiles- check them out of you come to Tunbridge Wells!

I have been so thankful that they opened a Charlotte Tilbury stand in Fenwick here! I've purchased a few products and have fallen in love so decided to get their magic foundation and an eyeshadow duo with an eye pencil. They offer a lot of colours and it was really hard to pick. I picked up the shade supernova/on the prowl. The eye pencil is a dark grey wich a hint of sparkle in and the eyeshowdow is more of a mauve with sparkles in. I love the colour and I'm glad I picked it up! If you hadn't already guessed, I'm super pale. I picked up the magic foundation in the shade 2- honestly surprised me when I was told I wasn't the lightest shade! I'm yet to try this foundation but will have a first impressions of all the makeup i picked up today. I've heard good things about this foundation so I can't wait to try it out!

After spending WAY too much in Fenwick, I went to the body shop to pick up one of their new masks. Last week I got a sample of the Himalayan Charcoal purifying glow mask and my skin felt incredible after. It was so soft and felt super clean! It contains bamboo charcoal from the Himalayan Foothills which draws out impurities and excess oils from the skin, green tea leaves from Japan which are rich in antioxidants and catechins which exfoliate the skin- hence why it felt super soft but was a weird experience applying, and community trade tea tree oil from Kenya which helps keep skin looking clearer. Anyone who suffers with acne like I do, either from a medical condition or adult acne, give this a go! It works wonders.

I couldn't walk past Ann Summers without browsing their sale. I picked up a matching set of underwear- no nothing else, which had been reduced. It's a black set with lace detail. I normally shop at Victoria's Secret- expensive I know, but my friend Lianne has a few sets from Ann Summers and goes on about how comfy they are so I thought while it was in the sale I'll get one!

As it's Lianne's birthday tomorrow and we're going for dinner and a night out this weekend, I wanted to pick up some false nails as I've bitten mine- naughty I know! I had some for the wedding we went too last weekend, a post will follow about my outfit, but they've all come off so I thought I'd get some new ones. These are acrylic looking nails as although I can do acrylics myself, I can never be bothered. Once I have applied them, I will post a picture on Instagram so keep an eye out! As I was in boots picking he nails, I looked at the face washes to try new skincare out for you. I noticed that the Yesto detoxifying charcoal cleanser was on clearance so I picked one up. Anything with charcoal in is really good for oily and spot prone skin, so make sure to check it out. I will have a review of it up soon to let you know my thoughts. I also picked up the NYX full throttle lipstick in night crawler. It's perfect for this time of the year! I will let you know my thoughts on his product soon.

I know I've said it like 5 million times already, but all the products I've picked up I will do either a review or a first impressions on.

Current top 3 products

On
Saturday, 13 August 2016
I haven't done one of these posts before but I thought I'd give it a go. When I was looking for inspiration for what to write, 'current favourites' and 'current top products' kept coming up so I decided to do my own spin on it. Currently it's 3 products, but it could change to more or less products.

The other week I posted about the Benefit precisely, my brows so I won't go into too much detail, but I love this product! I did however buy the wrong shade, but the more pressure I apply the darker the product becomes. After I've applied the pencil I use gimme brow as it darkens them up. This pencil is so easy to use and creates a natural looking brow.

After Christmas last year I bought the Clinique moisture surge face spray as I loved using this at work. I worked on a No7 counter in boots and whenever my face felt tight or irritated I would use this products as the gorgeous girls on Clinique said it would relieve the tight feeling. I continue to use this product when my face feels tight or I need to cool down. It feels refreshing on the skin and instantly makes my skin feel amazing!

For my birthday I received Paul Smith woman. It's a beautiful floral fragrance which smells amazing! I'm not normally a floral wearer but this one smells great and isn't over powering which is why I don't normally wear floral perfumes. This one is a subtle floral fragrance so I'm in love with it!

As I said in my brow 'first impressions' I was going to get the 3D browtones. I've recent bought this product and I'm testing it out so will have a post up soon!

Mini update

On

Now I know back in April/May time I updated you with my new hair. It's ben a little crazy since then. I decided I didn't want to be red anymore so I dyed my hair back to brown, then decided I wanted to go blonde. I used one of those at home kits as I didn't have the money to just go and get my hair done at a salon.

It was an okay process, apart from my mum freaking out when it started going white- it needed to go white for me to then dye it, so I washed it out WAY earlier than I should have because I started freaking out as my mum was freaking out and ended up with multi-coloured blonde hair. It was actually really funny to look at, some parts were white, others were orange and then most of it was a natural blonde colour. After a week of messing around with my hair to go blonde- I did manage to get it to a reasonable blonde with very brassy undertones which didn't go, I couldn't be bothered with trying anymore so I went back to brown. After a few days of being brown, I wanted to be red again, so alas I am back to being red and I LOVE it!

I also did something a little crazy, which I want to repeat. I went and got my nipple pierced! I know it's TMI but I love it and I'm glad I made the decision to go and get it done! Of course my mum came with me and of course she freaked out! We were walking to the piercing shop and she kept saying how she was going to be sick- she was against me getting it, but what can she do? It was a strange process, the woman sat me down, we decided where I wanted it done and it was over within 5 minutes! Once I got home I couldn't stop looking at it, like it was a new born child!

I originally only wanted one done, but now I have just one I want the other done as I love it so much. Who knows, maybe in a couple months time I'll be updating you about it being done!

I want to post updates regularly, maybe once or twice a month so I can keep you all updated as to what's going on in my life. I am actually going to bluewater tonight to get an Ipad and camera so I can start creating YouTube videos, I just need to know what camera to go for. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments below or on my social media- saralouisehxo on Instagram, Twitter and snapchat!

Benefit brow products

On
Wednesday, 10 August 2016
It took me a little while to jump on the bandwagon, but I finally went out and bought the Benefit precisely, my brow pencil and the browvo! conditioning primer. I thought my brows were doing great and finally started to look the same, but about 2 months ago the right brow decided it wasn't going to grow anymore, so when I have nothing on my brows they are COMPLETELY different! I can't even remember what I was using before I bought the Benefit precisely, my brow, but whatever it was didn't make my brows look anything like this does! I love this product- the colour is too light for me as my hair wasn't red at the time I bought it, but I don't care!

I love how thin the pencil is and I love that there's a spoolie on the other end. I start by applying the conditioning primer. This is meant to create a thicker looking brow, which I've noticed it does slightly and makes my brows stay in place. I use 2 twists of the product instead of the 1 they recommend. After I've brushed them in place with the conditioning primer I use the spoolie just to make sure they stay in place (the primer is still slightly sticky at this point which helps to keep them in place). I always start with my right brow as my left one has the arch whereas I have to work on the right one. I do this one first because then I'm not comparing the bad brow to the good brow.

I start by creating the arch on my right brow. Now there are a few hairs there so I feather the product round to create a curved arch as I find it's more natural and my left arch is naturally curved. Once I have feathered the arch in, I line the top of my brow starting from the arch to the tail and then from the beginning of my brow to where I created the arch. I then line the bottom of my brow, starting from the beginning of my brow through to the tail. I still feather the pencil as it creates a softer look. After I've filled in my right brow, I do exactly the same with my left brow, starting at the arch.

To finish my brows I run the spoolie through to make sure everything is blended and looks natural. I then use the Benefit gimme brow, although I'm looking to change to the 3D BROWtones eyebrow enhancer. I want to try this as it gives the illusion of thicker, fuller brows.

When I get the 3D BROWtones eyebrow enhancer, I will be doing a review and I'll let you guys know what I think about it.

I'm back

On
Monday, 18 July 2016
So I know it's been nearly a month since I posted anything, but if I'm honest I lost my writing mojo. I would buy new products, look at them and think 'I can't be bothered to write up about this'. Last week I was meant to post what I got for my 21st, but when it came to sitting and writing about it, I just couldn't be bothered.

This week there may be the odd post to inform you about what's going on but as of next week I have 2 weeks off so will be able to plan and catch up on blogs for the future. I am also going to buy a camera too so I can start taking better pictures for my blog- one reason I couldn't be bothered, the pictures kept coming out crap!

This week I will be planning blogs for the upcoming weeks, I may even write them out so I have something in front of me!

Orlando shootings

On
Monday, 20 June 2016
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/us-gun-violence-history-deadly-shootings-151809956.html

I was meant to post this last week but didn't get round to it. It makes me physically sick that there are people cruel enough in this world to go around and do this sort of thing! I saw a video on Facebook last week- not sure how old it is, but it said if you take Great Britain, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Australia and a couple other European countries, you get a population roughly the same size as the US. In all those other countries there were 178 gun deaths in the previous year to this news report, the States had 32,000 gun deaths in the same year.

I just don't get how people can be so cruel and cause this much misery to others. People who conduct mass shootings do not this think how it'll effect others. We need to stop all the violence and hatred in the world and just join together as one. If a guys falls in love with a guy then let them be happy, the same applies for a girl who falls in love with a girl. If someone has fallen in love and they are happy, leave them be! That's all that matters, their happiness! The same goes for race, religion, ethnicity, I don't understand how people can be so judgemental and hate a certain group of individuals!

I'm at a loss for words. This hits home really hard as I have a close family member who came out as gay and all I could think about is what if that happened over here and he was a victim of someone's awful hatred! My heart goes out to all the families and friends affected by this awful loss. My thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

Please keep the love and peace!

Lush skincare event

On
Thursday, 9 June 2016
Back in May I was invited to another blogger event at Lush in Tunbridge Wells. This time it was based around skincare and we went into detail of what each product does and how it works. Whenever I go into a lush store I always go to the bath bombs, forgetting they offer skincare and makeup. With that being said I actually own a lipstick they do, I just never remember about the skincare and makeup.

When I first arrived, I was the only person there. I was told to take a seat upstairs and that others should be joining me. Once everyone had arrived- 4 of us in total, we started to talk about what skincare products we own. I prefer there being 4 of us as we could go into more detail of the products and have a closer experience. The last Lush event was great, don't get me wrong I had an amazing time, but there were about 30 people and it was difficult to hear what was being said about each product and know what to look at.

We started of with looking at different cleansers. They showed us 2 different cleansers they have, one which is more of a lotion and the other which is more solid. The lotion type cleanser is called 9-5 and is completely vegan! The other we were shown was ultrabland. We were given some of this in our goodie bags and I love this stuff! I use it before I jump in the shower to remove my makeup and it comes off so easily.

We were then showed how to make a face mask- catastrophe cosmetic, which smelt amazing! It has blueberries in which contain vitamins and minerals which are great for the skin. It also contains chamomile which helps to soothe the skin.

After we were shown how to make the face mask, we moved onto moisturisers. We were shown the different moisturisers they offer and were told a bit about the ingredients in each. We were told that the most expensive moisturiser- gorgeous, was designed for Princess Diana as she had really problematic skin. She never got to try this moisturiser out due to the unfortunate accident, but everyone at Lush thinks she would have loved it! We were then shown their solid serum- Full of Grace. This is a solid serum which you rub in between your hands to melt slightly. When using this product, it's the ideal time to give yourself a facial massage. I use this at night and my skin is so soft when I wake up and feels super hydrated!

After being shown the skincare, we were shown the makeup they offer. The range isn't big but they have a lot of products in the range they have. We were shown their colour supplements which are lighter than a foundation but still provide the coverage you want. They're offered in 4 shades and are buildable. They also have a couple of colour supplements which are used for highlighting. Next time I visit Lush, I'm going to be getting one.

Once we had been shown everything, we were taken to a little table and shown some products we were able to choose. There were samples of moisturisers, I chose vanishing cream and Magical Moringa. I chose these as they're best suited to my skin type. I was told that Magical Moringa could be used as a face primer. I've tried it a few times and have noticed my skin isn't as oily at the end of the day. There were also face masks, toning waters and makeup. I picked up the Love Lettuce face mask, Tea Tree toning water as well as confident lipstick and dynamic eye liner. The makeup products can be used not just for the area stated. I love how dynamic is a gorgeous golden rosy colour so I would use this as a highlight.

Once we had been shown everything, the evening concluded with being shown some new products. We were shown a new soap which was being released the following day and the Father's Day gifts they had brought out. I was so tempted to buy myself a Father's Day gift purely for the scarf!

I had another great evening at the event and want to thank the Tunbridge Wells staff for making it an enjoyable experience and Seb for allowing her face to be demonstrated on! I also want to say thank you to Lush Oxford Street for allowing us to have aLush Oxford Street exclusive bath bomb! It smelt amazing!
